I have never visited their rooms and have only checked out their casino. For the region, this casino is the best of the best. Technically my closest casino is sunland park but I rarely have a good time there. I go out of my way an additional hour to visit Inn of the Mountain gods. The casino floor is closer to “Vegas style” than any other casino in the El Paso/Ruidoso region and I highly recommend it if you’re into slots. The casino does offer some dealer/table games as well, such as poker and blackjack and craps roulette and more, with a few digital tables/games as well. You’re not allowed to drink on the general casino floor, but they do have some workarounds available to help us with the restrictiveness of our region. For example, there is a shot bar on the casino floor that’s opened on weekends or when it’s really busy, that allows a quick shot then back to the floor. There’s also a sports bar and a cigar lounge that also allows you to drink with some slot games. Keep in mind the slots in the sports/cigar area are bingo slots. So although they don’t allow a full freedom of where you can drink, I still appreciate the steps that they’ve taken in order for us to have a good time with the laws in place. I absolutely love the inn of the mountain gods and I’ve probably found myself going to this location about five times a year. Have fun and goodluck.

A beautiful and romantic getaway spot! My wife and I recently visited the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Ruidoso, and it was absolutely breathtaking! Even though we didn’t stay overnight, the visit itself felt like a mini getaway. The views of the lake surrounded by mountains were peaceful and picture-perfect — the kind of scenery that makes you stop and take it all in. We spent time walking around the resort, enjoying the casino, and having a delicious meal while taking in the view. Everything was clean, relaxing, and welcoming. The staff were kind and made the experience even better. It’s truly the perfect spot for couples looking to unwind and enjoy nature’s beauty. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

My husband and I spent this Christmas Eve and Day, 2025. We stayed at the resort. It was our 1st time and we didn't know what to expect. 1st, the natural glory of the property, rivals Tahoe. Seasonally, very different climates... but the mountains and trees! Just beautiful! The hotel: a room like this in Tahoe would be +$500 per night. $189 bought us a beautiful suite w/a lovely view, lush bathrobes, balcony, electric fireplace, quality linens, room service, etc. This place is an historic landmark with all of the updated, modern comforts that we are accustomed to. The wi-fi was a bit slow but the cell service was great. The service: Hope at the sports bar is a great bartender; professional, pleasant, prompt. The employees love highlighting the history and fun facts about the property. The food: THE BEST FOOD OF ANY CASINO IN NM. We were unable to secure a reservation for the Christmas Day buffet brunch at Wendell's Steakhouse; however, we saw some of it from above! It looked and smelled like it was fit for a KING. The wings at the sportsbar are better than the brewery wings, but they have GREAT wings! The bison sausage sandwich, the homemade soups, the breakfast! All EXCELLENT. Casino: It's a cozy casino where the numerous restrooms, beverages and cashiers are always in sight. The restrooms were always immaculate. The coffee, always fresh. I played the slots and Blackjack, my husband played Roulette. We both did ok but we had a blast! This is the best casino in NM. I will be back VERY soon.

This casino delivers a really solid experience from start to finish. The place is clean, well-organized, and has a great vibe without feeling overcrowded. There’s a wide variety of games—from slots to table games—so it’s easy to find something you enjoy, whether you’re a beginner or more experienced. The staff are friendly, professional, and always willing to help, which makes a big difference. Drinks and food options are good, and service is okay did take really long time to get my food. To receive my food took about two hours at the restaurant bar next to the slots machine. That is my only complaint. Security is visible but not intrusive, so you feel comfortable the whole time. Overall, it’s a fun, well-run casino that knows how to treat its guests. Definitely worth a visit, and I’d happily come back again

Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino is truly one of the most special destinations in our area. The setting alone is incredible — overlooking the lake, surrounded by mountains, and beautifully maintained year-round. Whether you’re staying overnight or just stopping in for an evening, it always feels like a true getaway without leaving home. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, the dining options are excellent, and the casino and entertainment add just the right amount of excitement. One of our favorite experiences is watching the fireworks over the lake — it’s unforgettable and something both visitors and locals should experience at least once. As a local real estate broker, I often help people who are discovering Ruidoso for the first time, and places like Inn of the Mountain Gods are a big part of what makes them fall in love with the area. It perfectly represents the lifestyle, beauty, and sense of occasion that make living here so special. Highly recommend Inn of the Mountain Gods for a stay, a celebration, or simply a memorable night out in the mountains.

We've been to this hotel about two times and I must say that both visits were absolutely amazing! Rooms are comfy and have some pretty detailed illustrations as well as a faux fireplace, food is delicious, the view overlooking the lake from the main lobby is gorgeous and just staying here educates you about local history and customs. Have heard concerts have been hosted here as well, so that's cool.

The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino is a gem in Ruidoso! The location is absolutely breathtaking—nestled in the mountains with stunning lake views, it’s hard to find a resort with a better setting. I spend summers in Ruidoso and frequently visit the casino, which never disappoints. The building is beautifully decorated, celebrating the Mescalero Apache tribe with thoughtful cultural touches. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and offer gorgeous lake views. Wendell’s restaurant is a standout—top-notch dining that elevates the experience. The Fourth of July fireworks are a highlight, truly unbeatable. Highly recommend this resort for a perfect blend of luxury, nature, and entertainment!

Overall it was a great experience. The room we originally booked happened to be under construction so we were upgraded at no cost to us. The staff was great except for a few at the casino that almost ignored us completely. The atmosphere is wonderful and original. We were a little disappointed that the pool was closed down and the top golf was closed down indefinitely even though they were still being advertised. The free valet was nice and the multiple restaurants inside were also a nice bonus.
